fn key controls on ASUS laptop

    Hi again all,
    Lately i've been trying to capitalize on the benefits of fn keys with a few minor problems... all to do with the programs it opens. For example, i use the internet function key, it opens internet explorer (when my default and preferred browser is chrome), the media keys (up down left right for songs / movies) only works with crappy windows media centre when apple is clearly ftw.

    Is there anyway to change which programs these keys open? or alter their functions?
    im on vista ultimate x86
    my laptop is an ASUS X56Vseries

    As far I know, you can't change the functions. I've tried that myself.

    what signals they trigger inside the windows OS. Sometimes those signals can be trapped by other programs.
