Manual JPN to ENG Translation help

    This is to help...

    a) members of the RomUlation Community like me
    b) Kazo and his project

...to translate words in Japanese we don't know about.

Simply 'write' them (japanese characters) into the reply box or 'draw' them and any person who happens to be able to translate japanese will be able to translate it, therefore letting Kazo know he has to change it, and helping our Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver experience! 8)
    Hope this will help!

    Tutorial

Image- Draw the character and attach it as an image. Save it at http://www.tinypic.com

    Character for 'Silver' (badly drawn)

Writing- If you have a JPN layout keyboard, just write the character

Character for 'Silver' (pronounced 'shirokane') If you see a hollowed out box above, you need to upgrade your browser

That would take forever!! For every single Kanji/Katakana symbol you found you would have to figure out what it means, that's like translating every word in English.

It's pointless to do so really. Japanese, and all those other silly asian languages, heavily rely on context for a word to make sense. A few characters could basicly mean 12 different things, and only 1 would fit into the context of the game. Therefore, it doesn't help a whole lot into contributing to a translation project.

Those facts aside, it's useless to translate pokemon games, as they will get out in english anyhow a month after the fan translation is done. Really, why do those with the skills to translate bother with pokemon, while there are so many good games out there that will never be released in english?

Kazo isn't translating any more game dialog, now its just a menu patch anyways... Magnius is the only one with a continuing dialog patch that may make it.

Google translate can only translate text from a keyboard. Unless you have a Japanese keyboard, you can't use google translate. Unless you want to buy one. You can maybe rip the script out of the game and copy it into google translate, but you still won't know exactly what place the words are in. Google translate is a poor machine translator anyways, it is better just to learn Japanese.
