Help on final fantasy 9, the battle is a li'l bit slow
« on: Friday December 11, 2009, 04:04:27 PM »
Not just the swirl but the battle is slow, how can i fix this? i used petes d3d and set the fast config.  but its still a lil bit slow and the battle menu dissappears. I am using a LAPTOP, 3GB ddr2 , 2.0Ghz, Up to 1244 mb mobile intel@graphics media accelerator 4500m, pentium Dual Core processor, as you can see no real good graphics card, is it still possible for me to play this game smoothly? any ideas of a good config?

I used ePSXe for the longest time, and i do love it.It's a great emulator.Probably the best.
However, it does get frustrating with knowing which plugin best works for you and all.
I had some trouble with a game, a few months ago, i think it was Chrono Cross.
So i found out about another emu.
It's called pSX.
There are no plugins, and configuration is very basic.(Like just configure your controllers and your video settings.)
I am currently on disc 3 of FF9, and i've played quite a few different games with it.
It runs very smoothly and my specs are way lower then yours.
Give it a try! Here's the link.

use the Pete's OpenGL2 Driver 2.9 video plugins,
Set it to "nice" , and go to special game fixes, there should be an option for the FF games.

Try it, I didn't experienced any slow problem while using ePSXe when playing FF games, even with my low spec PC and Laptop.
