You can run Windows 95 on your Wii.

    You need:
    - SD card (it WILL NOT and CAN NOT run from a USB device)
    - Wii remote
    - Keyboard (or you can use the DOSBox keyboard located at the "home menu")
    - The Homebrew Channel

    How to install:
Download this (this includes all needed files)
    Extract to SD card's ROOT
    Start up your Wii
Run DOSBox via the Homebrew channel
    Wait ages
    Fill in the time
    Click your way through anything.

    When booting:
    - It loads some data,
    - It runs ScanDisk from Microsoft®
    - It loads the rest of the data
    - It loads the personal settings (desktop, settings, etc.)
    - It loads the icons & graphical things (taskbar, desktop icons, etc.)
!! When it hangs on a black screen, do not worry! It is loading data! Your Wii didn't freeze. !!

    Common errors:
    - When trying to run the icon "The Internet" Windows asks you to locate a file's path.
    - If you try to be fast, everything crashes.
    - When setting your way through the settings, the next time you boot up Win95 it will be crashing like hell.
    - No sound.
    - It takes ages to do something.

    Information:
Windows 95 is made in 1995/1996. It is the first Windows OS with taskbar and graphical effects.
Windows 98 is made in 1998/1999. It was the second OS with graphical effects. It has fixed some bugs, errors and such, but from this the Wii is unable to emulate.

The Wii has to get all his emulation power to do something, but it still takes ages.
The most common fatal error is "Exception (DSI) occured!", this is an error message from the HBC. Just wait 8 seconds and it will reset back to the HBC.
This error does mostly occure when:
    - Explorer has crashed
    - DOSBox is runned from USB drive

These applications will NOT work or crash:
    - Internet Explorer
    - Paint
    - Explorer (will mostly crash when processing power is high)
    - MS-DOS window (this will reset your back to the HBC)
!! This is not the whole list! When you find any applications that are not working, please report them. !!

    These applications will work:
    - Notepad (can even read TXT!)
    - Explorer (but is slow with loading)
!! This is not the whole list! When you find any applications that are working, please report them. !!

    Features:
    - B button of Wii remote = Right Click
    - A button of Wii remote = Left click

    Warning:!!!!!!
When you try to run other apps and right click and go on New, the program will CRASH.
Also, when creating a new folder, the program will keep giving fatal errors, and crash (black screen) at the last power.

How to reset back to the HBC:
    - Start > Shut Down > Restart computer
    - Home menu button > Exit
    - Start > Programs > MS-DOS

Errors & What to do against them:
    - ScanDisk errors: Re-install the application or ignore the warnings
    - Explorer errors: Don't try doing it again. Ever.
    - Windows errors: Don't even try to mess with Windows. In other words: Leave Windows alone. When you get critical errors, re-install the application.
    - Unable to boot errors: Re-install the application. Only way to restore.

    Before asking questions (PLEASE READ)
    - Make sure you are doing it right
    - Re-install the app when erroring
    - Re-download the app or make a copy. A copy will save you lots of time.

That is both cool and disturbing I hope this was done in the thoughts of "just to see if it could be done" and not in hopes of actually doing something with it.

    Kidding, of course.

Wii cannot emulate Mac OS X.

You can read TXT files :)

But I want to put some programs on it.

Notice: Do NOT delete the .CONF and .CONF~ files! The DOSBox application will then boot into DOS instead of Win95.

Maybe you should try Windows 3.1X and see if it causes any chaos.
