These rules apply to all boards unless contradicted by a section specific rule. Section specific rules will be named "Section Rules" and are valid in the section, and all subsections, only.

Should a rule be broken we will either warn the user or, if offence is deemed severe, ban a user. At most a user will get 3 warnings before being banned. Not having read these rules is not an excuse for breaking them, trying to use that excuse is an offence in itself.

    General
    - This forum is English only.
    - Leave correcting other users to the moderators, if someone is breaking the rules then report it by using the "Report to moderator" button, do not correct them yourself.
    - No posting other (competing) ROM sites. Really it makes sense, one electronics store don't tell you to go to another store, they place an order for your item.
    - Referral links are strictly forbidden unless pre-approved with an administrator of the site, exceptions to this rule will most likely not be granted.
    - Multiple accounts are not allowed and will result in permanent ban of both account and any future accounts.
    - Do NOT PM administrators or moderators with support questions, post it in the appropriate forum section. PM'ing administrators or moderators for technical help may get you temporarily banned on first offence.
    - No posting of Warez/Serials/Cracks/keygens, or links to sites with said content. Do NOT ask for such things either. Repeated violations of this rule will lead to a permanent ban.
    - No posting of referral links/get rich/get free [insert item here]/online voting links. You will only be warned once, after that you will be banned. In certain circumstances referral links may be posted if pre-approved by the admin team, but this is very unlikely to happen.
    - Posting rickroll links will result in a temporary ban on the first offence.

    Conduct
    - It is expected that users act as adults, this is a forum for discussion. Users may not always agree, this is not a reason for flame wars, name calling or otherwise being a git. Be polite and thorough in your posts, if you're arguing a topic then provide thorough reasoning for your opinion.
    - It is expected that users do not curse or use swear language on the forum.
    - All content submitted by a user must adhere to a PG-13 guideline. No explicit images, language or content otherwise offending to minors.
    - Do not flame bait, this could be by saying "PSP sucks, NDS owns!". Provide a reason instead so other users can evaluate your argument and either agree or counter-argue.
    - Do not feed trolls, if a user is flame baiting then use the "Report to moderator" button, do not respond to the troll.

    Posting
    - Search before you post, chances are there is already a similar topic, if such a topic is found then please use said topic instead of creating a new one.
    - Proper English must be used, spelling errors are, naturally, allowed but abbreviating words such as please, thanks and sorry is not accepted. If you can't bother to make an effort then don't bother at all. This type of language is often referred to as SMS language.
    - Post must not use excessive caps or incorrect punctuation; this includes, but is not limited to, excessive exclamation marks at the end of words; usually seen in topic subjects.
Example: SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!! URGENT!!!!!
    - Topics must contain a proper title, describe your topic with as much details as possible, do not use "help please", "problem" or similar.
    - Posts must maintain a certain level of quality, posting just for the sake of it benefits no one, if all you have to say is "hi", "thanks" or similar then don't bother. It does not require much to expand it a bit to "Thanks for this, I really appreciate you taking the time to upload this." yet it means so much more to the person who posted the thread you respond to.
    - Posts must be on-topic until said topic has been thoroughly discussed. If the topic is a question then absolutely no off-topicness before said question has been properly answered. This includes questioning the topic author with mindless questions such as "Why would you want to do that?" or similar, please state instead "I wouldn't recommend doing that as ..." then said user can draw his or hers own conclusions.
    - No posting two or more consecutive posts in the same thread. There is an edit button, use it.
    - Do not post two topics about the same topic, one is enough. Bumping a topic is allowed provided something valuable is added to the topic, be it a more thorough answer, a similar (but not the exact same) problem etc; however, keep it to a minimum and let it pass a few pages before doing so.
    - The following words and phrases may not be used without prior permission from senior staff:
    'official topic'
This is due to the words/phrases implying that RomUlation and staff endorse a particular topic or subject matter, when that is extremely unlikely to be the case.

    Signatures and Avatars
    - Signatures must be reasonable in visual space, remember your post is the content that matters, no a pretty image in your signature.
    - Signatures must below 250kb in filesize, this is total filesize, not per image filesize.
    - Signatures must not contain adult content, all signatures are expected to adhere to a PG-13 guideline.
    - Signatures must not be flashy, this includes, but not limited to, short repeating animations, rapidly changing colours etc.
    - Signatures must also comply with the proper English rules, SMS/leet speak may not be used, and excessive use of capitals is also forbidden.
    - Links are permitted, however links intended to mislead people will result in a warning and removal of the offending link.
