By glider, I don't mean a dinky little paper airplane. I mean something I can actually fly, e.g. the Wright brothers' plane without the engine. I specify cardboard because that's what I have a lot of (and build everything out of). Anyway, could I have answers to my question? (Please don't tell me to find plans because a) I can't read them and b) I can't find any in the first place.) Thanks for answers.
to make a personal glider out of wood would require it to be a considerable size. try hollow aluminum rods with a nylon-poly blend fabric for the canvas. It's lighter and more durable than wood.
Let us know how it turns out. I recommend jumping off of a 3000ft cliff just so you get enough height.
Use cardboard wings to fly off your roof & make sure to fall on your head, if you're lucky you might get extra sensory perception & psychic powers & make a mint helping the police solve crime. --- South Park reference
Considering it's going into winter where I live (i.e. northern hemisphere), I'm going to leave this as a summer project. I will let you know what it turns out to be.
Yeah- use "bolster" wood not sure of the spelling but its super light, they use it in all the kits you buy for making planes and stuff-
I was amazed at how weak it was. My brother has some for a project a few years ago and I poked it and my finger almost went through the board. Also, you could build a cardboard boat.
