Run the program as an administrator.

Locking seems removing the administrative rights to me.

Right click > Run as administrator

Thanks u that was exactly the problem, i emailed the support people on the official edge website though before cause no one seemed to know what i was talking about and they gave me a very detailed step by step guide of how to do it, and it worked (at last). On the r4 u know know u can change the background thing on the homepage can u do that on the iedge, i downloaded the skin editor for it as i downloaded all three common downloads, can u create them on that or what?

Create a folder called "skins" inside the EDGE folder, then put the folder from the skin inside it.

    Like:
    SD:\EDGE\skins\Mario

    You can read this:
    http://www.edge-ds.cn/downloads/iEDGE%20Reference%20Manual%20v1.pdf
to be sure how to use skins. I read it and it says this:

    Code:
    Skinning
The iEDGE GUI is fully skinnable, and skins are easy enough to make so that anyone can do it! To use one or more
skins, simply transfer the required skinning files to the folder \EDGE\skins on your MicroSD card and then select the
desired skin from the settings menu. Please note that each skin should have its own folder within the \EDGE\skins
folder – so for example if your want to use a skin called “Mario”, create a directory called “\EDGE\skins\Mario” on your
MicroSD card and then copy the skinning files into this directory. Skinning files consist of several .BMP files and a
single .XML file – this means that you need to extract these files first, do not just copy the .ZIP/.RAR file onto the
MicroSD card! So for example, for the Mario skin you might have a file structure similar to this:
    \EDGE\skins\Mario\skin.xml
    \EDGE\skins\Mario\top.bmp
    \EDGE\skins\Mario\bottom.bmp
    \EDGE\skins\Mario\scrollbar.bmp
    \EDGE\skins\Mario\cheat-icons.bmp
    \EDGE\skins\Mario\menu-icons.bmp
EDIT: For the skin editor...yeah you can create your own skins.
Grab the image files (not ISO's lol) you want to create a skin with and...yeah...create it.

Click SAVE SKIN, then select the directory to save the skin to.

EDIT: in a folder in the skins folder in the EDGE folder.
For example in a folder named Mario. Name it whatever you want.

    *facepalms
    lol

Lets say you choose the desktop as folder.
It will generate a few files, place that files in a folder in the skins folder. Name it whatever you want.

Actually the EDGE team must make a more detailed readme...
