I'm almost done with the game... Just have to save and I find out...I CAN'T!

Is it a problem with the emulator settings or something?
    please help... T_T

What emulator are you using? And what version?

Change your save type by going Options, Emulator then Save Type. That should do it.

Uh... yeah... I've tried it before, but it doesn't seem to work.

Some games don't work with 1.8 beta, are you using it? Try using an earlier version of VBA like 1.7.

I've tried an older version (1.4)

...and used all sorts of setting combinations for the save type but it still says the same message...

    "error in backup memory"

    This is getting frustrating...

Maybe try reinstalling 1.8, and/or redownloading the rom.

Redownloading the ROM is not the solution, if it's extracted then redownloading changes nothing, stop recommending that.

But it does help in some cases.

Yay! Redownloading seemed to fix the problem!

    UNFORTUNATELY...
when I try to load my file from the older one, i can't save again!
I was forced to play the game all over again...

But I guess it's alright now since I've already finished the game...(4 days by the way)

    Thanks for the help! ^_^

From what you said it seems the problem was a corrupted SAV (save) file, this sometimes happens when you use a cheat code that was meant to be "turned on" once then had to be turned off BEFORE you save a game, like have all xx codes

You can make it says ERROR BACKUP MEMORY again by just SET FLASH TO 128K --but!!!-- While the FFTA rom is on! then YOU MUST Reset! Press Ctrl+R...

To fix it again is not only set save type flash to 64K but YOU MUST OPEN THE ROM FIRST! (FFTA). While rom FFTA is on, Set it to 64K AND TO WORK YOU MUST Reset! Press Ctrl+R...

If it at 64K from before (Save type) CLICK IT ONE MORE TIME (while the rom is on). (FFTA). Then RESET!

NOT Close the emulator and re open BUT RESET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ctrl+R
