Which is R4_v1.18_English and I don’t know what to do next. I got it from linFox Domain or whatever and saved it to my documents so do I just drag and drop it on to my R4 file? It contains some of the same files that I already have so do I just delete the old files before I put in the new ones? Is there like a tutorial for updating the R4DS to it’s latest firmware? Also, I’m still trying to figure out what version of the R4 I currently have, just to make sure I don’t already have version 1.18, but I don’t know how to. It doesn’t say it on the box and I’ve tried looking into my computer to see if it will say what version I have of my R4, but it doesn’t.

I suggest you get Wood R4 instead of 1.18...

Is Wood R4 an update on firmware or is it a whole new flashcart?

Firmware, it's based on Wood RPG which is for the Acekard RPG.

Alright. Are you sure it’s safe to update my R4 to Wood or whatever? It won’t mess with the games I already downloaded?

It's completely safe, the only thing you need to do is change your save files from .sav to .nds.sav

What exactly are the benefits? Sorry if I'm asking too many questions.

    you're not :)

Well currently with all other R4 firmwares most anti-piracy games fail to work correctly, all games with AP that were created before this firmware was released seem to work. I won't say that for the latter games because I have not tested them.
    Plus it looks pretty :D

Alright. I downloaded Wood onto my computer, extracted it, dropped and dragged it onto my R4 (the root file anyway), and renamed my save files to “(Rom name).nds.sav” So now what? Am I supposed to delete any files that were on my R4 before I put on Wood?

Just the firmware of the 1.18

And that would be deleting which folders?

The regular folders that show up first are:

    1._system_
    2. Games
    3. moonshl
    4. Music
    5. root_r4

    Then there’s:

    1. _DS_MSHL.NDS
    2. _DS_MENU (DAT File)
    3. _DS_MENU (System File)

Which don’t really appear as folders.

So which one exactly am I supposed to be deleting? Also, within the 5 folders that I listed, there are a crapload of more contents that I’ll list if you need me to.

I'm sorry, but I really just want to get this out of the way. I just need to know what files I need to delete that were originally on my R4 before I put on Wood.

    1. _DS_MSHL.NDS
    2. _DS_MENU (DAT File)
    3. _DS_MENU (System File)

    and put these on:

    1._system_
    2. Games
    3. moonshl
    4. Music
    5. root_r4

If you're getting the Wood R4 firmware. These are the files you need to extract after you download Wood R4 and all you need on your R4 to make the firmware work.:

    1. _rpg
    2. _DS_Menu.DAT

And you can add these folders just for organizing things:

    1. Games
    2. Music
    3. Apps/Homebrew
    4. Emulator
    5. Movies

Alright. Everything seems to be working. I downloaded a theme, but where exactly do I put it? Within it, I made a "calendar" folder and put the 4 things in there that I was supposed to so now where do I drop and drag it to on my r4?

Just ask me if you need any clarifications or the list of folders.
