    About 'On the House'

    Free?! What's the catch?
There's no catch. Grab full games, expansions and more at absolutely no cost. Just make sure to act fast because On the House specials can appear and disappear at any time.

You mean a trial or demo, right?
Nope. You’re getting a full version of the real game — for free!

How long will I own the game?
Once you’ve claimed your game, it’s yours to keep!

    Why is Origin doing this?
We're gamers, too. We appreciate you making Origin your gaming home ... and besides, who doesn't like free stuff?[/quote]

Is this EA trying to make up for how crappy SIMCity 2013 is?

Yeah, I'm sure it's a one year delayed kneejerk reaction to that rather than an effort to get their delivery platform some attention and recognition by offering games that nobody gives a fuck about for free.

its a desperate attempt to claw back market share because they're losing customers left right and centre.

For those wondering, it's "Plants vs. Zombies: Game of the Year Edition".
Usually $5, you can pick it up for free.

Am wondering if they'd notify us through email or something when this 'on the house' deal comes out. I tend to miss a lot of these kind of deals.

That's actually a really good idea.
Sadly, it doesn't exist. But it should be something they should put on the cards.

So theyre giving out B3 for free this time.
I hope this offer lasts for another week or so. I want to get this one, but my desktops board is fried, something happened to the motherboard and its given for repairs, and my Lap is with my cousin at the moment.

To download from origin, Should i have the origin software installed on my system and/or have an account? Just like with steam.

    Argh~!

I could have gotten "Plants versus Zombies" for free had I "joined" in on all the hoopla earlier :p

Sadly I only joined in after they released "The SIMs 2 - Ultimate Collection". I really didn't want to have anything to do with Origin but TS2 UC was too much to let go. So in the end I finally uninstalled my Pirated copy of TS2 and got myself TS2 UC through Origin (EA's loss is everyone's gain, am I right?). At least aside from now running a legit copy of the game, I now also have every Expansion & Stuff pack for the game... too bad EA wasn't generous enough to include all of the TS2 Store content they used to have along with UC... at least I found 'em over at MATY.

SIMCity 2000 Special Edition is currently the free game :)

The PSOne version with the "Drive through your city" mode feature is still the best, regardless if your car is only driving through a few poorly designed Polygonal structures though :D

Didn't know about that feature, but the thing that always annoyed me about theme park was the 'experience your rides' feature wasn't your rides, it was a generic rollercoaster or whatever, not the one you spend ages designing and building.

The PSX version of SIMCity 2000 used the "Streets of SIMCity" engine to let you experience your city albeit a very blocky one though:

Skip to 08:30 to see the guy "tour" his city.

About "Theme Park", did you mean "Theme Park World" for the PSX? If so I think that's an issue with the European version of the game because on the U.S. (or NTSC) version, you did experience your park the way you built it:
