Review based on: Experience on the PS3 version...duh!

    Note: All screenshots are in-game.

Killzone 2 is a first-person-shooter for the PlayStation 3. It's predessesor that was on PS2 was hyped to be a "Halo-Killer", but ended up being an extremely generic shooter, and a love-it-or-hate-it experience. Will Killzone 2 be the same generic experience as the PS2 bretheren?

Killzone 2 picks up where the first left off, so the story should already be in motion. It doesn't matter, since the plotline is so thin and simple that anyone can pick-up and understand that you're a tough guy soldier invading the planet of Helghan. You take control of Sevchenko, or Sev, who is in an elite team of soldiers fighting for the Interplanetary Strategic Alliance (ISA), who are currently waging war with the people of Helghan. Insert a crap load of cliches here and a reason to shoot stuff, and you're good to go. The characters' voice acting is hit and miss, and can feature lots of unintentional comendy (that's bad). The characters are one dimensional, meaning they aren't likeable and aren't really deep characters.

The gameplay is the standard FPS affair. You have two guns, one big one, and a small one. You fight. The only thing that Killzone does different, is the cover system in first person. You press a button to stick to cover and it allows you to peek and attack without exposing yourself as much. Running and gunning like a supersoldier will get you killed. It's a nice way to change pacing and change the way you play FPS. The enemy AI is brilliant, using tactics such as grenades to flush you out of your cover, and feel like real soldiers thinking on their feet. The weapon selection is rather generic though, with assault rifles, rocket launchers, shotguns, and the like. Nothing new. That doesn't mean that it's bad, though, what Killzone 2 does, it does extremely well.

The multiplayer is a totally different experience of the gameplay. The cover system is stripped, making you more of a move around type of player. The game has a rank and class-based system, which allows for abilities like building turrets, making spawn points and healing players. This gives the game fresh experiences for each class. However, it seems as if most of the classes were taken directly from Team Fortress 2...

The graphics, are absolutely mind-boggling. The details in everything, and the looks are great. It's PlayStation 3's Gears of War, if you get my meaning. From the way the environments look to your photo-realistic gun designs, it's looks almost match its infamous E3 target video. The game also features really fluid and detailed animations, and it's even more impressive that Killzone 2 barely has any framerate slowdowns (only in loading times in-game or split-second saving). However, the game falls to the same graphical problem in Gears of War- there's only a small amount of different colors, all of which are bland. Grey, brown, black...that's about it. The environments are extremely bleak with dark colors that give a gritty feel, but it loses its luster after you see the same colors for the entire game.

Sure, it looks absolutely amazing, but it also looks bleak. Very bleak. This is a screenshot that shows the most variety of colors in the campaign mode. This is how colorful it's going to get in KZ2's campaign.

Overall, Killzone 2 is a great game for any PS3 owner or shooter fan. Just don't buy it for the story.

    Graphics: 9.5
Stellar graphics are cut short by lack of variety in colors.

    Presentation: 9/10
Epic scripted events and huge firefights make this a nicely presented game.

    Gameplay: 9/10
Gameplay is excellent, but lacks anything new.

    Sound: 8/10
Sounds of weapons, and general environment sounds (like dripping water) are great, but this mark refuses to go past an 8/10 because of the laughable voice acting, coupled with a bad story script.

    Lasting Appeal: 10/10
With a gigantic online community, there's always a multiplayer match waiting for you.

    Overall: [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

It's either you type fast, you've prepared for it by using Microsoft Word or you've just copied it in another site.

And you have to add scores whether you like it or not.
Also, add some pics to make more interesting. :)

Microsoft Word, for the win! :)

I think one pic is enough. Is it?

What I said was just a suggestion. It's up to you whether to add pics or not.
