This is a good reason to still hold on to the GameCube Version or the wii channel version (because cube's version had green blood instead of red) to play on the wii. Dark atmospheres have become a bit brightened and the red blood has been changed to green on the 3DS version xD. The graphics do not look that much different so I will still hold on to my gamecube/wii copy. 3DS version will be collected, for me, only because it has a 3D function.

Bah, Humbug lol. I've been reading about it after I posted this and found out alot of other stuff about it. It was way more than I bargained for. If only they just fixed the bugs and left the music and graphics alone....

OoT3D is a 'remake', unlike the other two versions you mentioned, which are just ports.
So if you want the original game, almost untouched, then of course you should keep it on your PC Wii.

LOL, i see what you did there. I came across this a few moments ago (i was slightly wrong about something in first post):

    versions:
    N64
    1.0
1.1a - link sword bug fix
1.1b - removed red blood to green, removed islamic chant in fire temple, replaced all islamic symbols in the game with owl symbols

    Cube
1.2a1 - same as 1.1b but with cube buttons, added grunts in the place of islamic chant in the fire temple, sight color changes
1.2a2 - same as 1.2a1 but with zelda 1, zelda 2, master quest, and majoras mask bundled

    Wii
1.2b - same as cube version but with wii control scheme, more color changes

    3DS
??? - same as 1.1b but with graphic changes like brightness, symbols, ruto has clothes, 3D, No rumble stone, etc.

I really wished they used 1.1a for at least the cube version :(
And unfortunately project 64 is not that good as ppl say it is.

What's with all this islamic stuff in the old versions? I never noticed that before...

Like the moon and star emblem on almost every block, the mirror shield, iron warrior, etc. And the chant in the fire temple was a real islamic chant. They were replaced with a symbol that looks like the owl.

you need the cold cardridgr to noticr the islamitic stuff in the fire tempel. And they gave her clothes? perverts! I have the original n64 cardrige and I like it.

They weren't ports. They were emulated on the GC/Wii. Just like any other VC game.

Yeah, there are noticeable differences, but it's the same game. I really enjoy it. And the graphics are a lot smoother and vivid than the 64 version.

And that's the best part. :3

dark and gloomy > bright and cheery especially so for this particular game. I mean why make it like skyward sword? OoT is it's own game and it should keep what makes it what it is.

i also liked the prerendered backgrounds better that was used in some areas in the old version.

I dunno, maybe because nintendo feels every single game should be suitable for all ages.

    OoT was scary

    I see, thanks for clarifying.

It's still nowhere near as bright as Skyward Sword appears to be.

It depends on the individual, though.
I prefer bright and cheery, which is one reason why Wind Waker is my favorite Zelda so far.

It was bright and vivid when Link's a child, it seemed to be the same level of darkness when Link goes adult mode. Or, that's how I feel, I don't care either way, it still feels the same.

I hate prerendered backgrounds, looks extremely fake. Atleast not it looks consistant and actually there, whereas prerenderred it just looked pasted on (technically it is).

The game still feels the same, I don't see why a couple of changes makes it bastardized, I like a lot of the things they've done so far. Even then, the vivid colours of when Link's a child still feels like it fits. It's not like bright colours changes the subject matter or makes it have less of an impact.

oot wasn't scary. I just had a feeling of loneliness. At every
dungeon. And the future hyrule market is strange with all the
    zombies.

It was scary when I first played it. The zombies and the scream still scare me

Check these 2 vids out and note the differences:

    3DS Ganon and Ganondorf: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=573cEasH3e8

    Original: Ganondorf: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8QzAP8Ct8k
    Ganon: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qo7swaBoi7g

Look at how the old one is much more epic and mood fitting. While watching and/or playing the old one, I find myself tensed because all the epicness is going on. You actually feel the mood with the old one, especially during ganon fight. 3DS version on the other hand, ganon turned the light switch on and you can see every detail and you get no tensed feeling that something is lurking in the dark to get you. The old one, ganon is engulfed in the shadow and looks more intimidating as he watches you with a silhouette and glowing POWERFUL evil eyes! Graaaaaaaah! And for Ganondorf, that green mist crap doesn't even look right :p

I think this is more of a psychological issue with you not wanting this remake to be better than your childhood game.

No one said that I didn't want the remake, it's just that they made poor color choices, some poor graphical choices, and bad lighting choices. N64 mood, setting, and realism wins hands down with this game. 3DS version wins in extra content. That is why I said earlier that this is not a copy to get and throw the other one a way. Each has things that the other doesn't have. This is one of those times where you have to keep the old copy but still have the newer copy. Sort of like final fantasy 4 (Ds version because of the 3D and voices and new content AND Psp version because it has things that ds version doesn't have). Or better yet, just like Final Fantasy VI where you have to have the gba version for extra features but also have to have the Psx version for the 3D cutscenes and music.
Hey, I'm a collector. What can I say xD.

Edit: On the other hand, Nintendo didn't even develop the 3DS game. A company named Grezzo did....

As I said before I feel that both palette choices fit the game.

As mentioned before the blood was turned green in the N64 version aswell.

Blahblahblah, everyone always clamors over remakes and how the original > remake. Honestly, your mention of how this bastardizes OoT is a huge hyperbole and it's a preference choice. I really don't care, I feel that both are good, I prefer the 3DS version for the steady frame rate and obviously the graphics, along with the super improved UI.
