    Here's a quick setup guide to install and launch a PS3 Emulator for PC (in this case it's Windows OS). The tutorial is actually already covered in the emulator's official site - so look there if you need to know something. I'm merely summarizing the steps, but this time I won't be providing screenshots for each steps, since it's quite straight forward;

    Files needed:
    1. RPCS3 - PS3 Emulator (Latest) : CLICK HERE
    2. PS3 Firmware (Latest "PS3UPDAT.PUP") : CLICK HERE
    3. A file extractor such as WinRAR or whatever you prefer using
    Note:
    1. Check this link for min pc requirement, quick install guide, etc. CLICK HERE
    2. The PS3 firmware is provided by official PlayStation website.
    3. Win OS users will need to have MS Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable & MS DirectX End-User Runtime installed.
    Steps:
    1. Download and extract the emulator to your preferred location
    2. Download and place the firmware together with the extracted emulator
    3. Launch emulator "rpcs3.exe"
    4. Open 'FILE' and choose 'INSTALL FIRMWARE'
    5. Locate the .PUP firmware, and choose 'OK/INSTALL'; wait until installation complete
    6. Open 'CONFIGURATION' and choose 'SYSTEM'
    7. Choose the 'SYSTEM' tab, and change the language under 'CONSOLE LANGUAGE' to your preferred language (this step probably have some effect on changing region)
    8. Still in 'SYSTEM SETTINGS', open 'CPU' tab, and change to 'AUTO LOAD REQUIRED LIBRARIES' under 'FIRMWARE SETTINGS'
    9. You can either leave 'PREFERRED SPU THREADS' at 'AUTO' or change to '1'; up to you.
    10. Next open the 'GPU' tab, here you can change 'RENDERER' from 'OPENGL' to 'VULCAN' (Note: vulcan is the recommended setting, despite OpenGL is the default)
    11. Still part of step.10, you can also change the 'DEFAULT RESOLUTION' to your preferred setting
    12. You might also need to set a 'FRAMELIMIT' under 'GPU' tab, e.g. 30fps, 60ps, OFF, AUTO, etc.
    13. You also might want to edit the 'AUDIO OUT' under 'AUDIO' tab
    14. If you're done, choose to 'SAVE' (Note: the above are just the recommended steps, you might need to do extra adjustment as per your respective need)
    15. And lastly might want to edit the 'PAD' (gamepad setup) under 'CONFIGURATION'
    Playing:
    1. Needless to say, you need to download a game for PS3 or dump your game CD content
    2. Place it somewhere, preferably in a location easy to access or find
    3. Now simply click on the CD icon below 'FILE', then locate your game folder, after that press 'SELECT FOLDER/OK'
    4. It should then begin process to launch your PS3, just sit back and wait until it launches
    5. Well, that's about it
    Note:
    1. Needless to say, if the downloaded file are compressed .RAR, .ZIP, .7z, or other format, must be extracted first. Unlike other older console or handheld game rom, the PS3's is made up of a bunch of files, such as .SFB, .SFO, .INI, .VRO, .DAT, .BUP, .PKG, etc. Usually (not always) are contained in a folder named 'PS3_GAME', and 'PS3_UPDATE'.
    2. Next time you decide to continue playing, your entire game rom library should be visible under 'GAME LIST', just double click on the game icon you wish to launch.
    3. Preferably, keep all your game collection in a common folder for convenience. But you'll need to 'SELECT FOLDER' for each title individually.
    4. For installing PS3 games, updates, and additional contents in .PKG format, see next post (below).
    5. Be sure to check the emulator's compatibility list before downloading PS3 rom or dumping your PS3 game CD : CLICK HERE
    Disclaimer:
    1. I'm not part of the emulator development team.
    2. I won't personally provide any of the above needed files.
    3. I can't help further than provide the steps as listed above.
    4. Your gaming experience will no doubt vary depending on what the emulator development had been able to cover so far and your pc hardware specification (as per min required listed in the emulator website).
    5. Last but not least, don't complain if you encounter some games not working properly or even not running at all, or poor emulation quality. If you want perfect gaming experience, buy a PS3 console or upgrade your PC hardware. Don't expect an emulator to fully replace a real console.

Here's how to install game files in .pkg format (taken from the emulator's quick guide page):

    Note:
    • If you guys ever need to uninstall an installed .pkg game along with its updates and downloadable contents (dlc), simply right click on the game name/icon, then choose to 'REMOVE DISK GAME' and press 'DELETE/OK'.
    • While to remove regular PS3 game (not installed from .PKG), simply go to your game collection folder and manual delete it, the removal will be reflected in the emulator.
