Umm this thread is only intended for solving VisualBoyAdvance game loading problems, so I can't give you a good answer, & yes the GBA BIOS file should work on no$gba but the vba-over.ini file won't.

So anyway, if you go to options on no$gba, then go to emulation setup, you will see an option labeled "GBA Cartridge Back up Media", set it to "auto", then go back to options then click on save settings, if that doesn't work repeat the steps, but instead of setting auto, select Flash128k, then save your setings

And before you continue, reboot the game, that is reload the game so it can run under the new settings, hope that helps you out :)

wow never thought there was so much to do just to fix the 3rd gen pokemon games.

i thought making the save type 512 and enabling real time clock fixed it.
(that's all I'm gonna do anyway... screw the whole process!)

I guess some people just can't be bothered, eh?

Actually, you just need to download the required fix files, nothing more oh & this technique isn't just for Pokemon games.

Some of the games my technique fixes:

Polarium Advance - Real "good" BIOS required
    Yu Gi-Oh! GX
    The GBA DBZ Games

    Hi.
Well, um, it's me again, bothering you people.
I load Pokémon Emerald the way you told me to
in this tutorial, but it says it's got invalid
    BIO file size.
    What to do?

What do you mean exactly? What happens when you load up an Emerald game using the instructions in the tutorial? Also did you get the GBA BIOS file from the suggested links? If you can, can you upload screen caps of what files you used & what error message VBA gives you to help?

Which Pokemon game are you trying to run? - Pokemon Emerald, Ruby & Sapphire

And did you get it/them from here at RomUlation? - It seems so.

Also after doing the steps I mentioned, make sure you delete the .sav file VBA made for the Pokemon game/s you're trying to run so you can have a fresh start.

    UPDATE:

So I just read your two Pokemon threads & now have an idea how to help you.

I'm pretty sure you still have the old .sav file VBA made before you followed the steps on this guide. Navigate to your VBA's folder & delete all your Pokemon .sav files, make sure you have the "Use BIOS File" option ticked on your VBA's emulator options the reload the game. It should work this time around ;)

Yeah I've heard of this before, people having problems saving their Tactics Ogre &/or FF Tactics games on VBA. But I never encountered that myself. Have you tried setting the save type to Automatic, then Flash 64k as the size? That's my initial settings & as I said, I never encountered those save errors.

well...usually i set the emu save type to 128k...or the 'pokemon games' set :)
    the game run...save ok...close it....then i load it...
and some error message came out...like 'error or cannot blablabla memory!'
i'll try the tips from cahos...and report it back a.s.a.p...
