In Pokemon Dimond and Pearl what starter Should I start off with?

I still prefer Fire Pokemon, so Chimchar

 

Infernape is usually a pokemon that is used on wi fi battles and I read that it was a good mixed sweeper for a team. So I think chimchar would be a good starter. You can win against the 1st gym by using it's mach punch even if it does not do an instant kill to the geodude, onix and cranidos.

 

The decision's all up to preference. But Grass-types are weakness-prone, so Turtwig's out, IMO.
Chimchar if you want to hit fast and hard with Close Combat & Flare Blitz.
Piplup if you want an excellent water type - Empoleon. Plentiful resistances, good defense and decent offensive capability.

 

Cheers, due to a nicknaming error my at the time monfero was nicnamed Chimchar, now its an infernape.

Can you delete nicknames?
Can HM moves EVER be forgotten?
Where can Spritomb be caught?

1. Goldenrod City there is a Name Rater where you can change the pokemons name.

2.Blackthorn City there is a Move Deleter where you cna delete any move you want

3. Once you get the National Pokedex you can trade it from D/P/Pt

chimchar straight off if you teach it the right moves it can be very powerful i took on the elite 4 with just my chimchar and whiped the floor with them all
wasnt easy though
