Okay, I have an R4 and i started having this problem where i put my R4 in the socket but the DS menu keeps saying "DS card not inserted" when there is a card in there. I'm worried that it's my DS having the problem becuz it does that when i put regular games in it.

I tried the paper trick to get a better connection, nothing.
I tried blowing in the socket, nothing.
I tried pushing it in more firmly, nothing,
I tried cleaning the R4 connectors many times, nothing.

I've had this R4 for a year and it had little problems but i could still play games on with no problem and I have been extra careful with it so please tell me there is something i can do to get my R4 to work.

First, do you just come into the menu of your ds or do you see a black screen?
Also try pushing in your R4 card only without SD card, if you wont see a black screen say: SD/TF card not inserted
then its your R4 card or even worse your DS (try a normal game card then to see),
if it does say that then its your SD card!

I don't have the DS on automatic start, it's on manuel but I'll try it anyways.

    EDIT!
    I put it on Automatic start and the same thing happens as if nothings in the DS. So does that mean something's wrong with my DS? Or maybe the connectors inside are dirty. D;

The R4 automaticly loads always, but did you try using a real game card?

If it was the micro SD, it would still be recognized =/

If it doesn't work with an original game, it's your DS, it if does work on another game, either your R4 is dead, or you need to put more paper under it to make it work.

it would automatically load so the best thing to do is try a normal game and if that doesn't work then it the worst game scenario

Looking like its a problem with the ds. So if no warranty its not looking good

My mom bought it first and gave it to me later but i think she bought it late 2008. So maybe 2 in a half years.

Being the grammar Nazi I am, I gotta correct you

    It's 2 "and" and half, not 2 "in" a half <3

basically the poster mixed the times in on his or her psot was future, instead of and which would been a perfect match since he is describing a past action, in other words his sentence was in future not in past sense

he said 2 in a half years, but proper grammar is 2 and a half years. >.>

    2 + half a year = 2 and a half, not 2 inside of a half >.>

    way off... ^^

I do, because i'm OCD, and can't stand bad grammar. If I don't correct people's grammar, I feel down all day >.>
