Also this is an Onion Knights 4th Skill Panel. Look at that seed requirement! Damn! I'd rather spend that many on something thats worth putting that many into.

The daily "special login bonus" table has plenty of summon tickets in it. and you are guaranteed to get all of em. So yea ;) you should be able to get a job soon XD

    Warriors FTW!

I was wrong. :( When I got my first Steam achievement for completing the first Rune Temple, I thought I had completed Chapter 1. I still haven't.

I've heard that beating Chapter 1 will raise some caps. What happens when I finish Chapter 2? When cards are maxed out and Chapter 1 is completed, how can I raise their caps further?

Ah good. Then I don't need to worry when I upgrade my Assassin since I'm sure I can specialise in that Job.

But can I summon a Dark Lord or Dark Emperor directly? Or are they only specialised Jobs for Dark Knight?

I know the first website, but not the second one. But I usually think all of these mechanics regardless of RPG:s are too complicated for me to understand. So in the end, I only play through for the sake of the story.

For example, it wasn't until today I understood that I should only use Ranger-related abilites e.g. for Ranger-Jobs in order to get the best stats and that not all abilities can be used for all the Jobs (because of the elements).

I actually think you explain the mechanics better than all of those websites.

I see what you mean there. Thanks!

It will take some time, but I guess it's worth waiting. I've heard from one of my friends that it takes 6 Summon tickets in order to get a free Job Summon.

Yup, the level cap of cards increase when you complete each chapter. I'm at chapter 4 right now and the highest level i can have a card is at 48.
To answer question, lets imagine you are in chapter 1 right now, and your card is maxed at lvl 10. When you finish the chapter and the level cap of your cards get raised to lvl 20. The lvl 10 cards keeps gaining exp upuntill it reaches lvl 20.

The level cap of each card is different based on how many stars it has. Higher star cards has a higher cap naturally making them the strongest. I always "favorite" my 3star and 4 star cards so i dont sells / fuse them into something.

the table shows the max level a certain numbered star can have at each point in the story.

Yea, only the Dark Knight is available via summoning, the other 2 are like upgrades, digvolutions of the dark knight.

Hehe thanks, i read a lot. The info on the English wiki is super outdated in some places, had to go through the painful process of google translating and readin a few Japanese pages for some info.

Yea the good thing though is you never get the same job twice. Since you already pulled the Assassin from the pool, you ll never have to worry about gettin him again. So no summon tickets are never really wasted.

Thanks. Then I better focus on the chapters even if I won't complete Mako Reactor 1 in time. I've read that the event will end on Monday?!

Wow... How long does it take for you to read and understand one Japanese wiki page through Google Translate? Because I guess the translations aren't good at all.

Love it too. That's one of the reasons why I keep returning to this game.

By the way, since the FF7 Remake crossover is sort of a PR stunt, what do you think of upcoming remake? Will it be worse or better than the original game?

And Dark Infernape, which Ranger Job is the worst Job ever, not counting the starter job? And do you usually explore all of the areas in each Chapter, or do you clear the Chapters first and then return to the more difficult missions when your character is stronger?

What? No, the event ends in April, they have yet to release the last part of the event, Midgar 4, which gives us the last upgrade to the Masamune. You have plenty of time friend. I Started Midgar 3 yesterday after completing chapter 4, and now the event is too easy for me, every node difficuly is green, so i put the game on hard mode when going through the event rooms.

Believe it or not google translate has become surprisingly accurate. The Japanese version of the game is far ahead of ours, they get updates faster etc.

Honestly i dont know what to think man, i know they arent doing Turn based combat anymore, im excited for that i guess, i love the "kingdom hearts" "crisis core" ff xv styled combat, and i cant wait to swing that huge ass sword around. Im concerned about the part of it being episodic, i get that it will be HUGE, i just hope they are doin this for a good reason and not cash grab.

I usually go through all nodes and sub nodes in a chapter until i reach the very end of the chapter. Once at the end, the game gives you a couple of additional High difficulty nodes, thats what you are talkin about right? I move on to the next chapter all the time, and go back later after, which makes it much easier!

Stat wise i think the worst ranger job of the bunch not including the starter ranger would be , the "pulled ranger', and " assassin" :3

Assassin has very high attack of all the ranger classes, but he has the lowest health stat.

And he, like some of the other ranger type jobs, doesnt have any defence stat. Makin him really fragile.

I would still use him, as a sub, in battle, he has high speed, high crit, high attack. I would focus on another tankier job and pull this guy in and out to deal damage.

That's good to hear! Does Hard mode award the players with more EXP and seeds?

Is it possible to read a summary of past chapters and re-watch certain cutscenes in the FF7 Remake-event? I know it's possible with the main story.

Alright, I definitely will try to translate some things from Japanese websites.

Faster updates? Have you reached Chapter 5 in the Japanese version? I've read that you play as a female protagonist in the prequel chapters, and she can get a Job which transforms her into Aerith.

Have you played the original game before?

Yes, I guess that's what they're called. Then I'll follow your example and go through them later.

And I've started to like him. ^^

But yeah, I still prefer stronger melee classes.

By the way, what do you think of Echo and Mog as Wol's sidekicks?

  9. Dark Infernape

Yea switchin to Hard gives you more Exp, more seed multipliers = more seeds, and a higher ability card drop rate.

Well I started playin the English Steam version sicne it was released this month, havent looked into how far ahead the jap version is. And yes they are probably months ahead of us in updates, the ff7 event has been runnin for them for a while but for us outside jp we just got it this month. I have head about a female protag and aerith jobs, but i havent looked into it much.

And yes i have played the original FF7 a long time ago and the Remaster FF7 from steam.

must be a tease for the aerith job or something aerith related? not the spirit skin though, also the spirit skin aerith doesnt look like it gives any buffs afaik. But i have a feelin i know who that is, you would know too once you finish the reactor part 3. I think i know whos comin for the next reactor :p

    also im done here
    [IMG]

That bromance between the wol and cloud though <3 its awesome to see these 2 interact, it gets better the deeper you go into the event, the ending was really sweet too.

also that masamune is something else!

Compared the 3 star masamune stats to the 4 star Maxed Deathbringer! Masamune still comes out on top with pure power! cant believe they gave this beast away for free.

Okay, then I know where I'll go when the enemies have become too easy to beat.

I've watched IGN's recorded cutscenes. I love the interaction and I think it's quite a nice plot device to have Cloud being removed from his main timeline before his mission at the first Mako reactor. If Square-Enix decides to make this canon, then I'm sure that Cloud - after his return to Midgar from Palamecia - will have forgotten his adventures with Wol because of Vox.

One of my friends has reached the second Mako Reactor, and from I've heard from my friend, he doesn't like the modern takes on the classic FF7 tunes Let the Battles Begin! and Fight On!

    Modern:

I've read that those themes are originally from the (overrated) Advent Children movie. I seriously hope Square-Enix won't re-use them for the Remake.

But what do you think of the characters Echo and Mog?

    Yeah. Strange isn't it?

I played the FFX HD Remaster on steam, It had an option to play with the remastered newer versions of the soundtracks , or play with the old soundtracks. I think they might add something like that.

I'm not sure i'm still thinkin if i should trust them. Even the moggles, they seem to be up to something. Mogs cool though.

Maybe "he" will come to claim it :p Final Boss for the Final Reactor? That would be epic! I think he is already a legendary job in the japanese version of the game.

Have you been doin Multiplayer? The mog shop in MP lets you trade cards, and items in exchange for the things the MP bosses drop. The items sold are limited time and rotate every few days. It sells stuff like 20K all elemental Seeds, Crystals, Cactuar cards, materials etc, the good stuff.

And i head its goin to sell summon tickets soon. So play MP and save up some trade goods for now.

How was the remaster version? Was it the original game with some slightly new features such as the Cloud Save or did it use new tunes entirely?

So which version of the FFX-soundtracks do you like? I prefer the originals of course, but the new version of the battle theme sounds nice.

Now that you mention it, I stumbled upon this angry reddit thread where the original poster thought that the game was sexist because of Garland's remarks about Sarah Cornelia, the NPC:s felt they couldn't trust her and even the OP thought Princess Sarah was a stereotypical character of some kind.

I haven't gone far in the game, I just completed the first chapter and unlocked the Dragoon job (yay!) so I can't judge. But I have to say that Wol has nice abs.

What do you think of the whole game so far? You also said you weren't into turn-based combat (anymore) so isn't there a risk that MFF will become too boring for you? I hope not because I enjoy our conversations in the thread.

Yeah, it would make sense if Sephiroth has "dropped" his Masamune and now wants it back, hehe.

Sephiroth has his own job in the Japanese version. And apparently it's very strong.

I actually haven't touched it yet since you said it's too difficult for new players. But I'll try it now with my Dragoon. ^^

Well you cant say its a full remaster like what they did for FFX, for VIIs steam release, they tweaked the game a bit, the character modals looks better than how they did before, they probably redid the modals, it was less clunky and the edges weren't that jagged anymore, anti aliasing probably, in all it looked nice , the backgrounds looked like they got some love too, and it looked better at higher res etc. The game got little tweaks here and there. The big features were Cloud saves and linking the account to SE and achievements. And i dont remember if the game still had the old tracks or if they had did a remaster for that too, i played the game a few years back so..:D

I played the X HD Remaster very recently, this last December - January, when i played it i opted to listen to the new and improved track, and it was pretty good too. I do go back and listen to the older originals when i get nostalgic n reminisce though :p

Lol seriously?! Some people have waay too much free time...stop ranting and farm some seeds people

DUDE SERIOUSLY?!Dragoon! Awesome man... damn im jelly, wish i had a dragoon, Dark Knight and Dragoon are my top most favorite classes. FF4 Cecil and Kain <3

Btw i read the Assassin is VERY good at breaking, and he plays the breaker role in multiplayer. If i were you i would make him my sub, and bring him in for a quick armour break , switch him out, bring in my main, pew pew, ded.

I love it, and i think its goin to last a while, the game doesnt have an end game yet, and i think SE will keep adding quests and prolonging that final chaos battle for the next couple of years XD Squeeze some cash out of people first :p

Well.. i didnt mean i dont like turn based style, i do love it! but i prefer real time action hack and slash kinda genre over turn based, thats all. I mean i've played and loved almost every ff, ive played many other turn based and strategic games, too many to remember or name here. Huge fan of FF as you can probably tell XD

But my MOST Favorite games i have ever played goes to titles like Kingdom Hearts. Metal Gear RisingRevengance etc. those games fall into the action hack n slash rpg genre, and i would love to play FF7 in that style! over the atb. I mean who wouldnt want to button mash for cloud to swing that heavy-ass sword.

I want to be able to do this, in real time <3not turn based combat

FF 3, 4 and 10 are my most loved titles from the series, and all of them have a turn based system.

Used to be active back in the day, used to be on here almost everyday. Been away for a while, Only comin back once in a while to check in on a few friends. but now i get a reason to come back every other day XD

    Oh Hey @Prectorian :)
Yes we are aware of the android version. I've played it on mobile for a while myself. So the android version of the game came first, back around 2015. And in 2016 it got ported over to Steam.

To answer your question, yes both the mobile and pc are the same versions of the game. And both these platforms share the same save files too which is awesome, and i think has never been done before?

I can play the game on steam, close it, open it up on mobile, and resume from where i left of on pc. Its amazing really. Why not give it a try if you have some free time, i've been havin a lot of fun playin this!

It's currently the most f2p-friendly game in existence according to many players. I haven't been forced to buy anything as opposed to other f2p-games at the moment. I usually don't do that, but very often I feel I'm being forced to do that by other games. Especially when stamina gauges in those games reload very slowly and I want to continue playing.

I believe both versions are more or less the same because you can move your saved progress from one unit to another. I haven't tried doing it myself though because I don't have a mobile unit which can play big quality games such as this one.

I think the story is interesting. Square Enix is re-using the characters, settings and plot of Final Fantasy I but the game is neither a remake nor a reboot. Furthermore, I think Square Enix is inspired by those FPS-games where you are as clueless as the player character (Doom Guy, Gordon Freeman) about the world around you. The protagonist in MFF has lost his memories of his past, and because of that both you and the character are struggling to understand what is happening to Palamecia.

The game is also referencing past FF games. The game takes place in Palamecia, a planet sharing the same name as the evil Empire in Final Fantasy II and an airship in Final Fantasy XIII. Galuf from Final Fantasy V has an area named after him. In the multiplayer part of the game you can hear one of FFV's castle/dungeon themes. And at the moment MFF has a crossover with FF7 Remake where the protagonist meets and works with Cloud.

Another great thing about this game is the turn-based battle system and the cutscenes which makes me feel like playing a spiritual sequel to Final Fantasy X, but with tweaks.

So yeah, I can really recommend you to play this game @Prectorian. The PC version also awards its players STEAM achievements. :)
