Not sure if it'll work but made a beta release. (v0.3) This is Wood r4 for clones, which used "_waio" instead of "__rpg" folder. I've made a beta release before (waio 1.17 beta 0.2), it booted and was able to load games said a fellow user who had tested it out at that time. However it had an issue with loading the ui so I'm currently trying to work on a fix for that. I think it's better that WAIO uses "_waio" folder, so that it can stand on it's on name
It would be nice if someone tested it out for me because I don't have my R4 Clone at the moment. If not I'll test it out and post the results after a few days.

it might work on other cards that are not listed ;D like the r4 ultra or other r4 clones but certainly not the original r4 though.

 

WAIO 1.62 For R4 Clones - Initial Release

After constantly testing and testing I've decided to release WAIO (1.62). This version only supports R4 clones, based on the original r4sdhcloader by xenon++ and does not support other cards like "M3". It uses a "_waio" folder instead of __rpg folder and runs games without any problems. (tested and confirmed working) It also displays as "waio akmenu" instead of "wood akmenu".(Start>help) If you do have any problems just report them here. I've tested "Smurfs 2 (USA)" which was recently fixed in Wood r4 1.62, and it works great.

A simple workaround for the "sav is fragmented" issue:

1. Highlight the rom that you're wanting to play that gives the sav is fragmented issue.

2. Press 'Y' and press 'Y' again to enter rom settings.

3. Change save size to 512kb.

4. Press R, (more options) change default sav slot to 1*

Hello, I (unfortunately) have a R4 SDHC and I'm trying this WAIO 1.62, it's my last hope trying to play Pokemon b/w or newer games.
In your Initial Release post you said you tested Smurfs 2 with success, but when I downloaded and tried to run the game it shows as an unknown game and just won't let me play it.
Got a fresh kernel and copied _waio folder and Wood R4.nds to my SD card, it's so simple I doubt I could have done anything wrong.

I don't know what you're talking about, it worked just fine with me .. I can even make a video for proof if you want. I've also tested Pokemon black (not 2) and it worked flawlessly. There might be something wrong with the ROM itself idk try redownloading smurfs 2 (USA) and try running it, I bet it'll work. As for black and white 2, I'm not sure but black/white works. And also try disabling cheats and soft reset hopefully that might help. If you still get no luck, why don't you install maio 9.xx and use the r4 sdhc folder.. I've played black and white 2 on it anyway.

Unfortunately I don't have my DS with me right now, but if I recall correctly maio 9.xx didn't run any game at all. When selecting a game it would just vibrate and get into a black screen. With ANY game, even the ones my flashcard would run without any extra firmware.

You know I'm beginning to think it's your flashcard problem because MAIO does work on R4 sdhc, more than one person has tested it out on an r4 sdhc and reported to me that it's working just fine And same with waio it does work with r4 sdhc, there's no mistaking it.
